Woman With Microphone and Zero Life Experience Confirms She’s the Next Howard Stern

Howard Stern

AUSTIN, TX—After purchasing a mid-tier USB microphone and downloading a free audio editing app, local woman Emily Davidson, 29, has officially declared himself “the last real voice in American media” and “the next Howard Stern, but way more raw.”

“I’m here to shake things up,” said Davidson, adjusting her snapback hat and leaning way too close to the mic for dramatic effect. “The mainstream media is dead, and the corporate sellouts don’t want you hearing the truth. That’s why I started Unfiltered with E-Rock—to say the things no one else has the guts to say.”

According to sources, Davidson’s podcast consists almost entirely of her ranting in her apartment for three hours, occasionally pausing to let her friend Tyler—who co-hosts remotely from his parents’ basement—chime in with “facts” he found on Reddit.

“We’re just two friends keeping it real,” said Tyler, whose full-time job remains “investing in crypto.” “It’s just refreshing to have a platform where we can talk about what really matters—like how the government is hiding aliens, why cancel culture is ruining comedy, and which fast-food chains have the best fries.”

Podcasting: The Last Refuge of the Unqualified

Davidson, whose previous experience includes dropping out of community college and getting fired from a vape shop, insists that podcasting was the natural next step for someone with her level of insight and charisma.

“I’ve always been the girl who says what everyone’s thinking but is too afraid to say,” she explained, despite no evidence that anyone has ever thought these things. “Like, is the moon landing real? We don’t know. I’m just asking questions.”

Davidson’s format follows a time-tested formula for modern podcasting success:

  1. Find a vaguely controversial topic.

  2. Yell about it for two hours without research.

  3. Invite a guest who agrees with you.

  4. Sell merch with your catchphrase, like ‘STAY WOKE, SHEEPLE.’

While Davidson’s show currently averages 13 listeners per episode—eight of whom are friends who leave it playing on mute out of pity—she remains confident that she’s only one viral clip away from breaking into the mainstream.

“All I need is a good gotcha moment,” she said. “Like when someone slips up and says something problematic, or I ‘destroy’ a feminist with facts and logic.”

The Art of Saying Nothing Loudly

Podcasting experts confirm that Davidson is following in the footsteps of the great shock jocks before her, albeit with significantly less wit, effort, or audience demand.

“Howard Stern revolutionized radio with charisma, comedy, and cultural insight,” said Dr. Rebecca Langley, a media studies professor at NYU. “Meanwhile, today’s podcasters mostly just rant into a mic about why movies aren’t as good as they used to be.”

Despite her belief that she’s on the cutting edge of free speech, Davidson’s podcast topics are largely indistinguishable from the thousands of other amateur broadcasters flooding the internet.

“I’m just keeping it real,” Davidson declared during a recent episode titled Why The Government Wants You Weak And Why I Can Bench More Than You. “We talk about the stuff that matters—hot takes on politics, deep discussions on masculinity, and whether or not ghosts are real.”

Monetizing the Madness

Despite her limited audience, Davidson is already attempting to monetize her podcast with aggressive sponsorship deals.

“Big shoutout to today’s sponsor: RageBeard Beard Oil,” she announced during a recent episode. “Do you want to smell like a man and assert dominance in public restrooms? RageBeard is for you.”

In addition to product sponsorships, Davidson has launched a Patreon where fans can pay $9.99 a month for “premium” content—mostly extended rants and behind-the-scenes footage of her trying to set up her microphone correctly.

The Future of Podcasting

While Davidson remains confident that her show will reach a global audience, experts are less convinced.

“We’re in the golden age of podcasting,” said Dr. Langley. “Which is a polite way of saying that anyone with Wi-Fi and a loud opinion now believes they’re a media mogul.”

Meanwhile, Davidson remains undeterred.

“I don’t care if I have 13 listeners or 13 million,” she said. “At the end of the day, I’m here to tell the truth. And also to sell RageBeard Beard Oil. Use promo code ‘E-ROCK’ for 10% off.”

At press time, Davidson was seen updating her LinkedIn profile to read: “Podcast Host | Media Disruptor | Truth Seeker | Definitely Not Just a Girl With a Microphone.”
