In a heartfelt announcement made via Instagram Live, local resident Jessica Meadows, 34, proclaimed her upcoming trip to Disney World as “a spiritual rebirth, not just a vacation.”
Wearing Mickey Mouse ears and sipping from a Cinderella Castle-shaped tumbler, Meadows explained that her annual visits to the Magic Kingdom aren’t just about escaping reality—they’re about finding her “authentic self.”
“Some people go to Bali or meditate in the woods,” Meadows said, adjusting her sequined Minnie Mouse bow. “I just need a Dole Whip, a castle selfie, and the sound of 'It’s a Small World' to remind me of my purpose in life.”
Meadows, who refers to herself as a "Disney Adult," has become a local legend for her unwavering devotion to all things Disney.
According to sources close to her, she owns more than 200 pairs of Minnie ears, regularly quotes Walt Disney during dinner conversations, and once delivered an impassioned TED Talk-style monologue at a family barbecue titled “Mickey: The Mouse That Built a Dream.”
Her husband, Ryan Meadows, 36, says he supports her passion but admits it can be “a lot.” “We’re on a first-name basis with every cast member at the Orlando parks,” Ryan said. “She knows their work schedules better than they do.
Last Christmas, she wrote them all personalized thank-you cards signed ‘Love, Jessica and the Magic of Disney.’” Despite Ryan’s lukewarm enthusiasm, Jessica insists her trips bring profound meaning to her life.
“Disney World is more than churros and overpriced souvenirs,” she said. “It’s a space where adults like me can remember the magic of childhood… while spending $15 on a churro and $90 on a spirit jersey.”
Jessica’s itinerary for this year’s pilgrimage includes a highly curated schedule: rope-dropping at EPCOT, attending every character meet-and-greet in full Disney bounding attire, and “crying happy tears” during the nightly fireworks display.
She also plans to “sprinkle pixie dust” by offering unsolicited Disney tips to first-timers.
But not everyone shares her enthusiasm. A growing faction of her friends reportedly refuses to attend social gatherings where Disney trivia is involved, citing “emotional exhaustion.”
“I love Jessica, but if I have to hear one more fun fact about how many gallons of water are in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, I’m out,” said longtime friend Lisa Carter.
Still, Jessica remains undeterred by the criticism.
“As Walt said, ‘It’s kind of fun to do the impossible,’” she said, proudly holding up her annual pass. “And by ‘impossible,’ I mean getting a dining reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table.”
Jessica’s next goal?
Saving up for a Disney-themed wedding vow renewal in front of Cinderella Castle. “Because nothing says eternal love like a $25 Mickey pretzel,” she said with a dreamy sigh.
